About Bella85

Biography

First and foremost, I'm the blessed and proud mother of Katy, (my Angel Face and my One and Only). I'm a writer mostly of poetry, but also I've got a few short stories and other things that I'll attempt to share. I'm a lover of books, word games, trivia, things that make me think, laugh or inspire me, not necessarily in that order, with exception of the first two. I'm vastly deeper than a puddle, smarter than (most) 5th graders and loyal to a fault. I'm a trustworthy person who is friendly to all, an adversary to none.

I tend to be very shy and reserved, {maybe just a tad insecure}, but once past that, I have a warped sense of humor. While most of my writing is from personal experience and is an outlet for me to say what's on my mind that would otherwise be internalized, not all of it is.

As a way to honor the memory of my daughter, Katy, I dedicate all I write and post here to my beautiful, Angel Face, (her nickname from the time she was a baby). My love, until we meet again...may you dance like a ballerina, sing like an angel with those who awaited you and have all the cats your heart desires. Mommy misses you and loves you infinitely. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Now and Forever

I sat leaning against the stone pillar of the decades-old bridge, watching as the sun began to rise over the horizon, my legs dangling over the edge, my hand resting on the recently installed railing. No traffic would cross the bridge coming into the quiet backwater town that had been our home all our lives, and I concealed myself well enough not to be seen by any motorists leaving for...

Hearbreak

I lie in bed at night, softly crying out your name; Because you touched my heart, I'll never be the same;  You held me very gently, with much tenderness and care, But you gave me only a moment of your love and life to share; Now that you are gone, forever from my life; I have no other choice, but to endure the pain and strife; I don't want any other; you are all I'd ever need; I wish...

Evermore

When it's late, and you fall asleep, Know in your heart the thoughts I keep;  What I feel is strong and true, and my heart beats a rhythm just for you;  No matter what our future has in store, My love will be yours for evermore.           ...

My Heart's True Love

Kind and caring, sweet and fair; With gorgeous blue eyes and long flowing hair; A heart of gold, through and through; Loving to all, pure and true; My gift from God sent on angels' wings; Never questioned the unfairness of so many things; Always so hopeful, come what may; She held onto that hope 'til her dying day; Now she's in Heaven with God above; My daughter, My Angel Face, My...

Until We Meet Again

Another years gone by since God called you home; It's never gotten easier, but still, we carry on; We take each day as it comes, a moment at a time; And bask in cherished memories, that always cross our minds; You were a precious gift, sent from Heaven up above; My special Angel Face, filled with boundless love; You're loved and missed by many; that will never change; You'll always be in...

Unseen Eyes

Shades drawn to hide from sight; As unseen demons cast their light; Seeking to catch me unaware; I can't find rest from their hellish stare; My tears flow free from unhealed sorrow; Fighting night terror, till the dawn of tomorrow; Wounded soul lies raw and bare; As I endure this nightly affair; As unseen eyes watch through the night; I pray...

Out Of The Darkness

I wake on my left side, shivering from the cold. I fumble for the comforter but come up empty-handed. Annoyed, I roll onto my back thinking I'll have to wrestle it from Ben, my blanket-stealing husband who likes to wrap himself in a cocoon. Instead of feeling his warm body, I find only space, as my hand drops to a cool, hard surface covered in what feels like small wood shavings. Confusion...

Fading Ink - A Mother's Memoir

It was Halloween weekend, just a little over two months before Katy passed away and we were spending it in one of Katy's favorite places. Asheville, North Carolina, about 100 miles from our home. My mother was in town from Florida, and my eldest sister had taken a flight in just a few days prior, from California. After we had dinner that Halloween night, the four of us were making our way...

Rag Doll

There's a pain I have inside;  I try so hard to hide; I hold on tight and bury it deep; But there's just so long that it will keep; Then in a flash the tears flow free; And continue till they empty me; I'm left as lifeless as an old rag doll; Exhausted and worn till I'm nothing at...
