I came so far for Beauty
And she took me down many roads
Confident and Proud, up on the high;
Broken and Humbled, down in the low

I traveled so far for Beauty,
Found myself a long way from home
Digging graves in the moonlight--
I buried my heart alone

I sacrificed for her, my Beauty
I held Isaac to the altar
Her praise I thought she'd give me
Knife in hand, I did not falter.

Although, pleasure came from Beauty
Her laurels I was never wearing
Unmoved by all my sound and fury
A goddess expects your offering

Still, I cannot curse her name,
As I long for her to value me
I first left home upon a train,
Or perhaps it was a pony

I came so far for Beauty
Always took the long way home
Wondering if my faithful pony
Remembers the trail I rode upon

All I've done was all for Beauty
So many roads I've known
Her pulchritude forever eludes me
Always the long way home...

Then one night it hit me;
Some roads never take you home
Whether a saint or a sinner,
To follow her is to roam
