Something stops me.
There is something I need to tell you,
But how can I even start to say,
the many many things that cross my mind
As I think about all that we have been through.

I guess to begin - is to look at you.
From the first moment that we met
You loved me and gave me all of you
This beautiful woman,
willing to bet it all on me.

There has always been a steady murmur,
It emits from you like a calming beat
It has engulfed my soul entirely and asked
for me to care for you just as much
As you have for me through out the years.

Much learning has occurred
between you and I, and I know
that without you - I would not be me.
I know that your beauty
Has helped me to keep breathing.

As a child I was innocent and scared
testing and pushing you to your limits -
I needed proof that your love was real
And that you would not leave me alone
I felt I had always been.

When I tested you - you fought right back
Every time I tried to convince myself you were false
You would bear your soul to me
Showing me that the real strength is found
in the willingness to show a need for love.

Who I am is a constant questioner
and you answered everyone the best you could
as I grew - you encouraged who I was,
You cried for who I lost,
And you celebrated my victories.

Now that I am getting older, mom,
I look at you and all I see is love
I see a woman who is just as beautiful now
as the moment I met her many years ago
Even more so with the wisdom in her eyes.

Mother you know, nothing makes me sadder
than to see you struggling alone,
and I want you to know that,
I will hold your hand the way you held mine,
and I will be there with you as you were for me.
I want to celebrate life with you,

we both have so many more memories to make,
and we are too much woman to be so sad and stuck,
For you taught me that we are strong and we are kind,
From what I can tell,
Our world needs a whole lot more of that.

So when you feel like the world has turned,
Know that you are never left without a friend,
for I am always and forever,
Your friend and Your daughter,
- Your biggest Fan.
