Freedom to write as one deems

What does a number mean?
Can one's thoughts truly be scored?
Is this a race, winning the highest vote?

Many shun the chance to shine
Others boast, thinking they are tops
While some prefer to just try

It is not winning that brings joy
The challenge defies the hidden
The need to voice a line is grand

The soul is filled with happiness
Exhaling true emotion
Words penned that soothe the mind

Not all have the balls to write
To those that do, I applaud you
Ease those thoughts, let them flow

It is one's choice to be heard
Read, inhaled, savored
Trashed, erased or wasted

So let the numbers be
Pay no mind, smile and breathe
For exposing one's underside
Is a choice indeed

I don't pay much attention to the numbers...although some day I would like to get all "5's" just to see what it feels like, lol....I'd always like to get more readers, though....

so true arts are not appreciated through the highest score or by numbers but how the soul of one's talent flows through his works and transfer the beauty of it to other person who are just lookers who appreciate the art have a nice day everyone

I loved it, perhaps because my numbers are so low. I am laughing out loud now. I do not think I will ever get a large audience here, but you are so right. The reason we write is to share our thoughts in hopes that they will illuminate the lives of a wonderful few.
