Dream Exploring

"My reality, or is it just my silly fantasy?"

Laying in my bed exploring a dream,
In my own reality worlds,
I can soar like a glider, walk through a wall,
Or seduce some beautiful girls.

I am a deity in my perceptual state;
These hallucinations are mine.
I am free; I can be whatever I want;
I become my only divine.

There is nothing to limit, save for myself,
My imagination and thought.
This is liberty at its farthest extreme;
I can find whatever I've sought.

Then I wake to the godless world of the real,
To the rules of physics and law.
But although once again I feel these constraints,
I will not forget what I saw.

Now off I go to undertake
A quest of my creation.
To worlds without a hint of hate
Or needless domination.

A peaceful place of joy and love,
My utopian oasis.
Who cares if this is all a dream?
The dream has been its basis.

Of all the progress man has made
In all of his existence.
If man wants peace, he'll surely need
His reverie's assistance.

Just think of Martin Luther King,
Of all the dreams he's given.
And as he dreamt so too I dream.
By dreams, we must be driven.

The dream enriches waking life
Like dreams our life enriches.
In dreams, we climb our mountains high
Instead of digging ditches.

With so much beauty in this world
We can't afford to ignore,
No hatred stands the slightest chance
When a man goes dream-exploring.
