The labyrinth of the heart
is full of hopes and dreams,
entrapments and schemes,
and dances to a blues harmony.

The heart bleeds and scars,
it writes the novel of life
of defeats and victories,
and sings an ode to the soul.

I feel a hot breeze burning,
conflict of power and submission,
blood sizzling through my veins,
conquer and be conquered.

Lost under a black moon,
the gathering storm clouds,
thunder rakes the soul
and a sad harmonica plays.

I’m down on my begging knees,
hurting and pleading
for the grace of your love’s salvation.

You are the jailer of my heart,
the liberating key,
set my soul free for sweet victory.

Love burns hot with fire,
there is no eternal flame,
smothered and covered,
it dies in passion’s agony.

Like a withering flower,
another scar upon the heart,
a piano with no keys,
and no redemption is seen.

Only through true faith,
wrenching the heart clean,
redeeming the heart’s hopes,
the melody plays upon the soul.

The sun breaks at dawn,
the heart celebrates triumph,
unleashed, love dances free
gracefully upon a searing bonfire.

I’m down on my begging knees,
hurting and pleading
for the grace of your love’s salvation.

You are the jailer of my heart,
the liberating key,
set my soul free for sweet victory.
