I paint with words
My brush is my pen.
Surrounded by voices of my loved ones

I see a woman,
Struggling to bear her burdens
Burned as a child by her own mother for small transgression
She lived through nightmare by grit and determination.
She married a man, who deserted her for another,
Making an offer of polygamy he thought of downplaying
Pregnant with second child she refused this pittance,
Leaving the known behind, She worked as a labourer.
Making a new life in her body, making a dream house for others,
Tired of carrying burdens now she is a maid helping others
While she lives a life filled with fear!

I see a woman
Affluent and happy
With a pain in heart no one could see.
She bears a child every time and loses it to luck
They say child is missing a limb, or not formed,
A child does not have a heart, sometimes child does not stay in her womb.
She continues with her life best as she can sunshine on her home turf,
Bringing calm to others.

I see a woman
A homemaker blessed with two daughters, angels
A wish to go out in world and win her high, refused that right she is quiet
Day in day out she strives harder to keep her home and hearth bright.
Silence and tradition forced her to have a baby again thank god at last she was blessed with a boy
Pain of bearing again and again, need I say more?

Did I paint it all well?
The pain, the pride, silent suffering of woman?
I do see joy around me but for now I wish to share this silent struggle.
