Eyes upon me before them I stand
Sweat on my brow and the palms of my hands
I glance at my notes and see my hands shake
My body is trembling, my head starts to ache
Fear building inside, my stomach in knots
The temperature’s rising this room is so hot
I’ve prepared for days the presentation’s ready
It’s only five minutes long but my nerves are unsteady
I know everyone in this room, so this SHOULD be easy
I don’t understand why my stomach’s so queasy
‘Picture them naked,’ someone once said
It doesn’t help this feeling of dread
My first words stammer, the rest come out smooth
My voice first quivers then begins to soothe
It’s finally over and for this I am glad
NOW I can say that wasn’t so bad
If you found this amusing and thought it was fun
Wait until it’s your turn… in front of everyone
