Rewind time.
I climb,
The tree of life,
Clambering,
Longing to reach the top.

I keep falling,
Like Alice.
Can't find my footing,
Like Bambi.
I keep crashing to rock bottom.

Photographs frozen,
Still memories,
Of pain,
Of good times,
Of bad.

Almost atop,
But I slip again,
Becoming one with darkness.
Feeling hopeless.
Feeling pathetic.
Unworthy of taking up space.

You may not get it,
But the place I am in,
You aren't.
It's dark.
It's cold.
It's lonely.

I try to force it away,
Pretend,
Willing it to leave.
It might let up for a second,
But then the rains come pouring,
Blending with rivers flowing from blue.

Rewind time.
Wishing the hands,
Would turn back,
Spinning and spinning,
Dropping me back,
On a better path.

Longing to be happy,
Longing for love,
Longing for what everyone seems to have,
Except for me.

All I am left with,
Is darkness,
And a clock that ticks,
Slower than any other.
If only it could rewind...
