I am the Angel of Destruction.

People don't like me,
And with good reason,
I mean,
Who can blame them,
When I take lives with the swipe of my hand?

People have different names for me,
Death, though they're wrong,
Death just travels with me,
My close companion,
Though we're both just as bad as each other.

People try to keep me at bay,
With their smudge sticks,
Keep the spirits away,
Nothing stops destruction though,
Disaster is a good one too.

People think I am just an unhappy guy,
When actually I'm happy,
Just doing my job,
Going along to please the man,
Just like the rest of you.

People think I am lost without a cause,
A rebel,
A sinner,
Hand me a treble and I'm a winner,
Or not.

There is darkness in my eyes,
But catch the right light and there is a twinkle,
A little mischief,
As I run through the night,
Like a thief.

Fire follows and licks from my fingers,
Dancing upon the earth,
Walls crack and then a heart attack,
Destruction comes in many forms,
All you see is how much it hurts.
My bare feet fall,
My wings clip the sky,
Before you know it,
I'm flying up high,
You'll never stop me,
I am quite the opposite of what I bring,
Indestructible and solid and calm.
