About CleverFox

Biography

When I started college I was hit with a mind numbing depression that lasted several years and had to put my plans for world domination on hold. Once I managed to shake the depression by shear force of will I managed to get degrees in Physics and Engineering. Now that I am back on track, my plans for world domination are coming along nicely, the best part of the plan is the fact that nobody realizes that it is happening, MUHAHAHAHA! I have had my heart broken several times in my life but my motto is "Never give up, never say die!"

Topic: When did you realize that you were an adult?
Posted: 02 Sep 2019 16:46

What was the experience that you had in life that made you realize that you were an adult?

Mine was when my nephew that was born 4 days after my 20th birthday was dating a woman that had 2 young sons. My nephew told me when he was watching those boys, if a difficult situation arose then he would ask himself, “What would Uncle Bob do when he was watching me and my older brother and this kind of situation happened?”

I was both flattered and a little scared that my actions were being used as a “good example”.

Hard choice, my Italian grand mother always made a plethora of pies. I am going to go for a lime pie because Key Lime Pie is one of my favorites even though I love lemon merengue pie.

I love the way coins feel in your hand. I have several silver dollar coins, a few of which are over a century old. I keep them in my safe deposit box at the bank along with my social security card and a copy of my birth certificate and a copy of my name change certificate.

I have a 1900 silver dollar that was minted in New Orleans that I carry for good luck. I am able to make it twirl on the knuckles of my right hand fairly consistently but not as well with my left hand. You just can’t do neat tricks like that with bills.

Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?

I always thought “The Flash” television series from the early 1990’s had a great soundtrack. Danny Elfman was the composer.

The Spell-Book of a White Witch

Over twenty years ago I found a spell-book of a white witch. I looked through the spells listed and there were many interesting spells in the book. There were spells to find love and to keep people from harming themselves and many others. (There was a spell to find love but every time I tried to cast the spell I  got interference from a specific person that ruined the spell. You might...

Remembering a Semester of College

This story starts at the beginning of my senior year at Kent State. I was majoring in Physics and I was taking some high level courses. At the start of my second to the last semester before I was scheduled to graduate I was taking Electro-magnet Theory I (which I loved), Introduction to Quantum and Atomic Theory (which I also loved) and Physical Thermodynamics (which didn't love me).  I...

Life Continues

A couple of years ago I noticed that I was having some troubles walking. It wasn't anything really serious, just that my legs felt a little weak, stiff and I had no stamina. I started having some back problems, nothing really bad, just every now and then the base of my back would feel stiff. Then this late spring when I was seeing my doctor for my yearly check-up I told him how I was...

Vampire's Bane: Part 1

It was a cold Friday evening in January when Sylvia was walking to her boyfriend Bob's condo. She was thinking about the night they finally hooked-up. Sylvia was a third year English Lit major at Kent State University. She met Bob the first day of the previous fall semester when she arrived for her science class that she needed for her basic education required credit. Bob was teaching the...

Vampire's Bane: Prequel

It was the middle of a hot summer day in the desert just outside of Las Vegas. If anybody had been looking at the state highway, then that person would have seen a red Harley Sportster and rider appear out of nowhere riding down the road. The rider was wearing a heavy leather jacket, chaps, gloves, heavy boots and a full helmet that had a black, silver and white design on it. Now most...

When You Know To Let Go

When I was a senior in high school I dated my very first long term girlfriend. I was 17 years old at the time and she was 15 years old. We actually met a few weeks before school began. I don't want to say her name so I will refere to her as MC. MC was cute in the nerdy cute girl way. I always liked girls of that sort because they were attractive but didn't realize it. The nerdy cute...

Release the Beast or How To Tell Your Mother That You Bought a Motorcycle and Live

In April of 2004 I bought a 2004 Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 XL. At the time I was 38 years old and suffering from a thyroid deficiency. In case you don't know, your thyroid gland is in your neck and regulates your metabolism and your mood. I was losing weight at the time and somewhat depressed because my thyroid was not producing enough thyroxin. After I bought the motorcycle I took a...

Waiting for Your Call

It is almost midnight on a Saturday night and I am waiting for your call.     This started six weeks ago when you caught your idiot of a boyfriend cheating on you. I happened to be in the neighborhood bar where you wanted to cry and get drunk. You sat next to me at the bar and got yourself a cranberry juice and vodka. I just happened to be there because I needed some human company for...

A Lesson Hard Learned

I went to a Catholic high school and when I was a senior a nun was made the principal. Sister Maureen was put in charge because the diocese wanted to get the sports boosters under control. The school had a very good football team and I understand that there were accusations of the sports boosters doing very unethical things with the money they raised for the football team. The interesting...

The Day the World Lost Some Magic

My nephew Tristan had come to Denver from Wyoming to visit me on a sunny Saturday. Tristan was in the Air-force and stationed in Wyoming. He would come to visit me when he had time off from his duties, usually on weekends. This particular weekend we decided to go to the Denver Zoo. I should explain about the relationship between Tristan and me. I was 19 years old when he was born and I...
