About elizabethblack

Just a reader, not a writer. I strive to be quiet and listen. I have opinions, but try hard to be respectful and not let an opinion of mine, expressed without care, cause upset.
I live in a very rural area. A beautiful area, but have to drive a distance for a real choice in shopping.
I don't have the time I'd like to have to be online reading and participating in the forums.

Seems real life and it's demands get in the way of the complete life of leisure I desire.

If only I had self cleaning everything - and four full time gardners. I love to garden, but the weather must be absolutely perfect. Just looking forward to spending more time here and reading and getting familiar.

Keith, this is so very important. I am so glad you posted this. I also noticed that you in charge of the polio eradication program for the world - are doing a magnificent job of getting funding to make sure the vaccinations go on everywhere.

Sara, you think of the nicest things for furry friends and well as human ones. Thank you. I am baking acorns. To kill the worms/weevils. I'm house and dog sitting at a friends and she has the most marvelous oak trees and the ground it covered with huge and small acorns. I couldn't help collecting some and I know you have to bake them first before using them in a craft or keeping in the house. I will get some glue and laquer spray tomorrow for them and my friend will have a nice fall decoration when she comes home... a bowl full of acorns.

I have been reading to keep tabs on everyone, but didn't want to put people to sleep talking about my daily activities. Not to alarm you Gypsy but a friend of mine's husband had the same symptoms but his is heart failure. Exact same symptoms. Used to call it congestive heart failure but they have dropped the congestive. Just had to let you know since himself sounds like her got pretty darn sick.

So happy Larry that you got out and about with Sir Victor. And rehearsal went well.

And Anna is spelling the Southern American pronouncement of Rembrance. Perfectly acceptable. I'm going to read that soonest.

Cynthia, I got a whole tin box full of Earl Grey from a friend and I don't drink anything but herbal teas. Trying to figure out who I can give it to without my friend finding out. Not a lot of people drink tea. My bestie friend from Scotland has never liked tea.

A delightful thing happened, I went out to dinner with husband for anniversary and we were shocked that two women at a nearby table paid for our dinner according to our server. We really only said happy anniversary to each other in a very quiet voice.....how nice. I think we have a "pay it forward".

Back to School Challenge: High School Disaster Averted

High school is starting and I should be so excited.  I am going to high school and my expectations are over the moon.  Maybe just a little nervous ‘cause there will be so many students and teachers there I haven’t met.  I don't know if any of my friends will be in my classes. Makes me nervous to have all new people. It still feels warm, but knowing the cooler autumn weather is just...

Bewitched and Beguiled

The world revolves my angel, and once more   The time is coming when the days grow short, When happy thoughts of summer flee away,  And all around is desolate and bare.  Come fly with me to some exotic shore,  Where bathed in golden light, we two can sport, Dancing gaily on the strand all the day,  And through the night mount high into the air.   O cruel lady, tell me what I've done, ...
