About ladysharon

I am a native of Chicago (not the suburbs), and I am getting my degree in Journalism. My main goal is to become a writer at a magazine that speaks to women of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and the interesting lives they lead.

My main hobby is creative writing, which takes me away from the stresses of everyday life. I have a few short pieces of never-before-released pieces of short erotica that I intend to turn into an eBook under a pseudonym. I have a crime-drama non-erotica piece that's going to be published under my real name. My other hobbies include photography and traveling, which I took up when writer's block hit me hard.

I am the mother of a baby girl, born summer 2017

Hello, everybody. I've been going to work every day this week at 4:30 am for 10-hour shifts to get the workload down. I want my Saturdays back, so I can start writing again and return toeing consistent on my blog and my writings. Hopefully, things can return to normal, and not only I can resume my creative outlet; I can resume house hunting. I think chamomile tea will be nice.

Hello, everyone! My little one is talking more and starting to master potty training finally. I'm updating my blog with a new landing page and a video I'm about to film and maybe post to YouTube. I brought fresh apple turnovers for this lovely establishment and I'll take a frozen latte.

Good morning, everyone! I've come bearing gifts pf pancakes, eggs, sausage, toast and lots of bacon. A giant pot of coffee is brewing and I'm trying to flush (or is it flesh?) out the characters for a story that's written in fragments. It's not easy to write with a toddler trying to see what you're doing. I"ll be in the corner writing.

Is there any coffee available? I'll take mine strong with lots of cream and sugar. I'm almost done with Blogtober, and I was asked to participate in Blogvember and Blogmas. If I do, it'll be on a smaller scale. I do want to pervert the English language again with one of my newest pieces.

Hello, everyone! My mom had hand surgery and I made use of FMLA at work to take off and care for her until she regains use of her left hand. I missed a day of blogging for Blogtober, but I needed a day of rest after a long day of running around and operating on little sleep. The girl child stole my toothbrush and began brushing her tiny teeth with it. I got her a toothbrush of her own and flouride-free toothpaste, and she's coming along with potty training.

Did somebody say peanut butter cookies? I'm putting some of my fragments together and hopefully try to weave a story together.

I'll have some green tea, please.

Good evening, everyone. My latest assault on the English language for the back to school challenge is finally up for your reading pleasure. I'm also crunching to get four blog posts scheduled out for the Blogtober challenge. The building I'm living in is getting the extermination treatment, so the little one and I will be at my parents' home for a few days. Outside, the temperatures are starting to drop and it's time to get the space heater out. I'll have some dark roast coffee, with four creams, four sugars please.

Hello! I was in charge today for some reason at work. I told my supervisor that the plaster is falling from the ceiling thanks to the rain and there are leaks everywhere. I just got another post ready to be scheduled out. The little one commandeered my phone and is watching YouTube videos. I put it on some nursery rhymes and she just came up to me and said "Green." She's a two-year-old ball of energy that doesn't stop. I'll have an apple juice for her and green tea for me, please

Back to School Challenge: Ghosts of the Past and Soon to Come

Back when I was young and blissfully ignorant, I loved the leading up and the first week of school. I would get my birthday money from my great-aunt in Ohio for my birthday and used that to buy my school supplies. The smell of opening up a fresh pack of notebook paper and putting it in my binder is euphoric. Don't get me started on the book bags. The one I picked out had to fit my books and...

Closing Time

“Excuse me. Is the bar still open?” I look up from cleaning to see an older male with an overly patched burlap messenger bag that has seen better days. I motion for the man to sit down at a table that doesn’t have its chairs upturned. “The bar is closed for the night, but I can get you something. What would you like?” I asked. “A dirty martini,” he replied. “Extra gritty, double olives?”...

A Writer's Creative Process: Journaling

I am a grown woman that writes in her diary, and I’m not ashamed of it. I was given a diary at the age of ten, not knowing the purpose of having one. I didn’t have a lot of things to talk about, only how annoying people in my immediate family are.  Two years later, an assignment was given in class about journal writing, and I took to it immediately. During that summer, I bought a...

The Toy Drive

For the past few years, I was a ne’er do well. I was the one kid from the Houston ghettoes that would throw illegal raves, steal cars, run a couple meth labs, run drugs to Mexico and saw the inside of a jail cell more times than dudes saw the panty line of the neighborhood slut. The number of times I’ve been arrested should go in a record book somewhere. I’m surprised I’m not featured on...

A Pessimist's Christmas Carol

She really hated the holidays. The constant hustle and bustle of people buying gifts, a selfish holiday for greedy-ass kids and adults, and more people coming in at the last minute. Oh, the insanity of it all! "I'll be glad when this holiday is over," she says to herself. "Shops opening up early and closing really late, spoiled brats are running around like crazy and it's a madhouse....

Fall Chill

Summer has left the resort town. The first of the cool winds has set in. Early show clouds are in the sky, producing cold rain and not snow. The once-thriving bushes are now bare brambles, never to bloom again until spring. The forest on the outskirts of town is shrouded in dusky light from what's left of the sun. People are exploring the shops, picking up their materials for the early onset...

No More Words

They had nothing to say to each other. After all of the backstabbing, infidelity, name calling, and beatings, she'd had enough of his shit. She looked in the mirror at her busted bottom lip, chipped front teeth, black eye, and the splint on her nose. She decided to leave everything behind, including her husband. She jumped a mile when her cell phone rang. “Hello?” she asked nervously. ...

If I became A schoolteacher, Would you learn from me? If I called you Crying in the middle Of the night, Would you pick up and answer? If I were An ü ber-nerd, Would you hang out with me?...

As the last grains of sand dwindle from the 2014 hourglass,
we ready ourselves to mark the end of another year.
Turning it over, the hourglass will once more be full, starting another year.
As we welcome in 2015 may you be blessed with peace,
good health and your heart over full with love.
