My first ever first place finish in a writing comp. Wow. I liked this story when I wrote it but this goes beyond what I expected.

This has become something of a banner year for me here on Stories Space. 5 stories published here with a 6th in the works. 4 of them have been comp entries. A third place finish in the Summer Word Bank competition. Lots of good comments from the readers.

This is a wonderful place to practice and celebrate the craft of writing. Hopefully, with the return of comps and some new faces joining, we can liven the place up. A space for stories is a space much needed.

My current bunch, all entries in the Cheers for 10 Years competitions:

My new story is up (only my second on here not counting a poem). It's fantasy story with a vaguely late medieval setting with some magic and a bit of a Western feel. The world is one I plan to revisit, likely with at least some of the characters returning, so stay tuned.

A mysterious traveller and a strange storm make for a wild Winter Solstice for the denizens of a small town.

I was recently on vacation and had several opportunities to watch the sun rise over the ocean. It inspired a lot of thought and this poem. The cover picture is one I took of the sunrise that inspired the poem.

My first story is now up for your reading pleasure. It's a horror story that I wrote years ago and heavily revised for publication recently. Please comment. I'd love to hear what people think.
