To distract my self, I slip into the YouTube void. I start out watching a music video and the next thing you know I'm learning how to defuse a bomb.

I think that's why I spend so much time zoned out on Youtube. You can kind of skip from topic to topic. I mostly watch science stuff and music videos but then some click-baity "Top Ten Movies that Feature Purple Crayons" stuff comes along and attracts me for reasons unknown, and probably best left that way, to humankind.

Those Top Ten Anything gets me every time. One of my favorite things to watch is where they clean old carpets or rugs. It's so gross and so satisfying. And one of my favorite channels is OddTinkering. I found it on accident from the cleaning videos. He restores old items. I love watching it go from rusted and old to brand new.

I like to read and bake. I also write and draw. I prefer pen and ink or charcoal, which can be erratic, but a good ol' pencil works just as well.

To distract my self, I slip into the YouTube void. I start out watching a music video and the next thing you know I'm learning how to defuse a bomb.

Why mess with a good thing?

Tonight it's grilled beef ribs (kalbi style) with sauteed eggplant on the side.

Trade you!

The Littlest Red Hood Chapter 6

The pain that exploded in her head as she opened her eyes made her want to throw up. She tried to move her arms and found that she couldn’t. She slowly opened her eyes again trying to figure out what was going on. When her eyes opened she was facing a tree. Her arms were tied together at the wrist and she was hanging a few inches off the ground. She was hanging just enough to make sure...

The Littlest Red Hood Chapter 5

They made their way up the hill and through the woods to the back of Helen’s house. The smell of food hit Cordelia’s nose as she stepped on the porch, and she realized that she was starving. Her stomach growled loudly. Micah grinned and opened the door. She grinned back at him as she walked inside. When Cordelia looked up, Helen was standing there staring at them. The look on her face...

The Littlest Red Hood Chapter 4

Micah stood up greeting her with a smile. His smile faltered when he noticed her expression. His hand reached towards her face and he used his thumb to rub the crease between her eyes. “Your face is much too beautiful to look so pensive.” She stood looking at him as he slid his fingers slowly down the side of her face leaving a trail of heat behind. She shuddered and her tummy tightened. ...

The Littlest Red Hood Chapter 3

Cordelia ran at a hard sprint, pushing herself harder, trying to outrun all of the emotions that had been building inside her. When she couldn’t push it any further, she slowed to a jog. Finally, slowly to a walk, she started to feel the cool air and realized she should have brought her cloak. Taking in her environment for the first time, she realized she had run a lot further than she...

The Littlest Red Hood Chapter 2

She spent most of the next day getting supplies that she needed for her house. She knew that she had at least two weeks at home because word of new Weres never came until after the full moon. Werewolves were able to change whenever they wanted, but during a full moon they had to and that is usually what allowed them to be seen by their neighbors or friends. Sometimes, however, it was a...

The Littlest Red Hood Chapter 1

“Don’t stop running!” the woman panted, dragging her son with her. The boy was scared and crying. He didn’t understand why his sister and father were not running with them. They ran for the hidden cave in the side of the mountain. “It’s a little further, son,” his mother said as she tried to reassure him even as her chest was tight with fear, rage, and grief. They made it to the river and...

The Only Thing New Is You

Are you waiting for me? Waiting for me to step aside, To bow out gracefully, All for you to have what’s mine. I’ve watched you slinking around, Sneaking in behind the scenes, Planting seeds and little blooms, Hoping she will tend them. She has a gentle touch, It’s delicate but strong, Oh, the things she does, And she does them to me. Do you want what I have? The love we share, All the...

The Whipping Post

Here I stand bound to you, Chained by history, Restrained by love.  Your words strike me, Ripping through my flesh, Marking me with your pain.  I alone take it, Welcoming your rage, Encouraging the hurt, All for your comfort.  She is rebellious and mocking, Backing you into a corner, Needing to lash out at her, Yet punishing me instead. The poor provincial whipping post, Take, take,...

Recommended Read And I Left

The bar was too noisy and people stood shoulder to shoulder. They were all vying for a place at the bar. Music filled the air and it mingled with the laughter and drunken ramblings of its patrons.  I first spotted him as he entered the bar. His black hair was ruffled and his shoulders were hunkered in. The collar of his shabby, oversized peacoat was pulled up so high his face was...

I'm Sorry

I’m sorry for the things I said, And for the things I couldn’t say, The things I didn’t tell you, Despite knowing that I should. I’m sorry for saying too much, I told you more than you wanted to know, Things you didn’t need to hear, I pushed on through knowing it was wrong. I’m sorry I pushed you away, I did it to ease my own mind, To settle my chaotic thoughts, Even though I knew it...
