About RoaringTiger

Biography
RoaringTiger

I am a long-time writer, mostly journalism and opinion pieces (no, they are NOT the same thing). While most of my time now is spent on the administrative side of a company I now run, I still on occasion get to dabble in the craft of writing.
Here I will mostly share experiences. While I would love to write fiction -- and maybe I will give it a stab someday -- what I will concentrate on in this venue is pulling out some memories to share. I've been fortunate enough to experience some incredible and fun moments that, I hope, will be entertaining.

An Echo Rings

An echo rings. It is a heartbeat; or maybe two. Shall we guess, or do we know? An echo rings. It’s in my mind; maybe you hear, too? Maybe you hear two? An echo rings. It is there. It is here. It is one. It is our heartbeat; a destined union. An echo rings. Can you hear it? Can you feel it? It is our heartbeat; lay your head on my chest. Listen. That heartbeat is us.  ...

Can't tell you enough

I will tell you that you are beautiful one thousand times, then a thousand times more. I will talk to your heart, then whisper to your soul. And when I finally see you and touch you, I will tell you that you are beautiful one thousand times, then a thousand times more. Words will betray me a thousand times, but I will tell you that you are beautiful, then tell you a thousand times more.  ...

You Know

In the moment of a second A second moment gives pause. There’s listening to the wind When there is no breeze. There’s watching a rainbow In the darkness of night. There’s the tap of raindrops On moon-soaked skin. There’s the scent of a rose In dense forests of oak. None make sense, Yet there’s a pause. There’s a second or less. There’s a moment of knowing. When in the moment of...

What weather brews?

What weather brewed behind me? I knew not. Maybe snow? Could fog be rolling in? Then thunder clapped. Lightning skittered across the sky causing me to turn toward reality. The wind -- she -- embraced me. The rain -- she -- filled my heart. The fire -- she -- lit my soul ablaze. The storm changed everything. She changed everything. What weather brews behind me? I worry not. ...

Early respect

I was maybe four? Fifty-plus years later, the images remain distinct. Between my parents on the front seat of their Oldsmobile, I stood mesmerized by the convoy of passing U.S. Army vehicles. There must have been at least 100 of the olive green Jeeps, tankers and all manner of show of force. “Where are they going?” “How many are there?” “Do they have guns?” I peppered my parents...
