Docklands

Alex had seen enough. He paused the footage, captured on his recently installed camera and gazed at the frozen features of his wife and Tony Greenwood. The man he'd decided to kill.

It was Monday. His wife had left early for her job in the production office of Docklands. As he sipped tea and ate toast, Alex glanced through the morning mail. Two letters caught his attention. One was a circular from the Pistol & Rifle Club, advertising their Autumn Social, the other an appeal for money from his old school.

Rona Blaine Academy, was trying to raise funds to update their lighting rig. Alex had only attended the school for a few terms, but he knew that, until recently, Tony Greenwood had been their Head of Drama. Until that is, he'd joined the cast of Docklands, playing David Savage, the abrasive manager of a drinking club.

Lost in thought, Alex sat for a few minutes on the quiet tree lined avenue, before starting the engine of his black Porsche Cayenne. He had an important meeting to attend.

"We start in five, Alex. The figures were well down last quarter. Hope you've got some killer ideas for us." He nodded and followed his boss into the conference room.

Two hours later he was back on the street pleased with the universal acclaim his ideas had received. Passing the Spice Shack Tandoori, he saw Tony Greenwood in the window table accompanied by a thin doe-eyed blonde girl, not long out of school.

No prizes for guessing which school, he thought.

For the next few days, Alex worked from home on his new project. His boss called a few times to check on progress and they agreed to meet for lunch at the end of the week.

Come Friday, he rose early to do a final edit. When satisfied, he pressed print. A smile crinkled his lips as he watched two newly written episodes of Docklands fall from the machine like autumn leaves.

The second one ended with the fatal shooting of abrasive club manager, David Savage.
