Escape from the Concrete Jungle

Toes cramped in their shoe cages pound cold concrete. Grey buildings tower overhead reminding me of my smallness. My ears close to mechanical sounds of elevators, air conditioners, and clicking keyboards.

Day after day I remain asleep to the world's natural beauty shrouded in man-made creations.

"Come with me," he says, whispering. I look into blue eyes - the first color I have seen today.

He takes me to a park where our naked toes dig into the soft grass.

My nose smells jasmine.

The wind caresses my body.

My ears enjoy buzzing bees and birdsongs.

Mother Earth awakens me.
