Adolescence

I love you more each day I live -
I’ll love you till I die -
My heart and mind are overflowed
With thoughts of you and I.
Thoughts of love and laughter -
Your hair, your eyes, your smile -
The way you move, the way you kiss -
Your voice, your charm, your style.
I love you, don’t you know it?
Do you think of me at all?
Can’t you feel me loving you?
Do you care for me at all?
Do you know each time I see you
My love stops still my heart?
Do you know each time you speak with me
The sun bursts through the dark?
I love you, do you hear my words?
Please try, do I speak in vain?
I’ve said this and felt this for ages it seems -
Again, and again, and again.

I try to let you understand
With looks and thoughts and smiles -
When I’ve seen you smile and look to me -
I’m happy for a while.
One more time, I’ll send my thoughts
With a pulse of love so great
My soul is gripped with effort
Of hope to reach you, I calm and wait:
Anticipation of response
Will I hear your call?
Do you feel for me? Do you love me?
Or is there but nothing -
Just nothing at all?
