An Angel's Hand

Walking into tommorrow

She saw before her an angel's hand, she reached for it crying,

the angel voiced "I understand"

the keys to her future came today

she took with her an heirloom of yesterday

inside her belly a child grew,

she could not let him have her

this she knew.

So with fear and angst she turned away

from a past so violent she could not stay

but he followed and stole that child back

brutally physical was the attack

she lay bleeding upon the floor

contemplating the end

relief, pain no more

and that is when the angel came

and offered to take her home

in god's grace she stands

now never again alone
