I never stood a chance you know.
As badass as I used to be.
I'd snap my fingers and say "C'mon let's go."
And they would all go home with me.

A pied piper of love I once was,
When I played my melody.
But time flew by as it always does,
Now I'm past my prime you see.

Love and play did battle for hearts.
Often through trickery or deceit.
I was the sum total of all my parts,
My learning was not yet complete.

It took a loss through my greatest pain,
To realize what I did was a crime.
A broken heart did break the chain,
Only this time the heart was mine.

Crippled and bent I wandered alone,
Deserving everything that I lost.
For my errant ways I had to atone,
No matter the pain, no matter the cost.

Darkness was the place I did dwell.
Cowering and afraid to stand.
Then she came to my private hell,
And offered me her hand.

"You're not the man you used to be,"
She whispered in my ear.
"You are the man who is meant for me,"
As she kissed away my tears.

A wretched life left in tatters,
Destiny had a plan.
She made me see it's love that matters,
And inspired me to be a better man.

She held out her hand and saved my soul,
And cares for me lovingly.
I sit back and let her live her role,
As a way more badass than me!!!!
