Crowded Hall

These halls feel crowded

Smothering me

So many voices

I need to feel free

Walking faster towards you

I know you’ll be there

Just give me a few more minutes

I’m coming I swear

The crowd seems to increase

Holding me away

I’m struggling to get past

Please just stay

I can see your door

The light is shining bright

I’m almost there

I will continue to fight

Farther away you start to feel

As my feet seem to stall

I am struggling for breath

In this crowded hall

Please don’t give up

I’m almost there

Soon the crowd will cease

I am coming I swear

Looking beyond the crowd

My breath is knocked out

Your light has vanished

Are you even around

Tears of frustration

Why is everyone here

Why aren’t my feet moving

Why are you not there

The hall begins to lengthen

Now you're far away

What is going on

Why didn’t you stay

I hear a buzzing

It’s getting louder in my ear

What is this noise

I am starting to fear

Jolted out of my sleep

I hit my alarm

You’re not far away

I’m inside your arms

Just another dream

Leaving me to ponder

If you’re near me

Why does my mind wonder?
