Failure Absolute

I want to be destroyed.
Eliminated from history.
My mistakes wiped clean from the slate.
Complete destruction of my existence.
No uttering of my name.
No memories left behind.
The world, a brighter place.
My wife, happy.
My son not at risk of my horrible problems.
My daughter with a father who can actually raise and protect her.
Only three things I have ever done right in this life.
Choosing a good wife and making two wonderful children with her.
But in truth, that's all I was needed for.
Someone can do what I've been doing so much better.
Someone else will succeed where I've failed, surpass my inadequacies.
A better husband, a better father, a better person...
All of these I have tried to be and have failed; repeatedly.
There is a simple answer that I've avoided.
One cannot be what they were never meant to be.
