Fallen Feathers of the Eagle

The elders beating war drums and chanting around the central fire.

Heads tilted to the heavens, as their chants turn to a pitched wail.

War has found the Eagle clan on the plains.

Eagle clan watched as the long white snake of wagons crossed the plains.

Young braves looked at the herds of ponies with covet in their hearts.

Many coup laid ahead for the Eagle clan.

Each day they rode out, and each day they returned with war booty.

And the long white snake continued on through their lands.

As the elders spoke of a great horde of locust devouring all in its path.

The chat went up fight them, stop them, from the young braves.

One great warrior Blue Hawk spoke of cutting the head off the snake.

And scatter them to the winds, let them speak with fear of the Eagle clan.

Blue Hawk gathered the young braves one sunny day in August.

Hit the snake from both front and rear he called out.

Cut them in half, encircle them as we do to the buffalo.

Bring destruction to them , teach them to fear the Eagle clan.

Blue Hawk rode his war pony painted with the Eagle totem.

War has come to the plains.

War has come to the Eagle clan.
