In pantomime on the walls

hung with webs and shadows

with too many tinctures

of ghost and dancehalls

The embers are charcoals

with many scars and splinters

of many old wives tales

and Mason jars

Now just memories of ghosts

who have come and gone

with too many fingers

of winters

Gone are the Magnolias

and lemon meringue

with only an old oaken gate

leading me home

Laying me down to sleep

with ginseng tea

opening the sesame

beneath the cupola
