It Was A Tragedy

It was a tragedy that he died,
It was a tragedy that she died,
It was a tragedy that the train derailed,
It was a tragedy that the van overturned,
It was a tragedy that the car veered off the road,
It was a tragedy that the tornado created so much damage,
It was a tragedy that the monsoons returned as usual and so many lost their lives.

It was a tragedy.

What is life but one long tragedy?

Do we even understand the meaning of the word tragedy?

Does anyone get through this life without a tragedy occurring?

It has lost its meaning. The word. Tragedy.

We live.

We die.

It is not tragic.
It is painful, but it is not tragic.
It is the world, our world, our destiny, our fate, a given.

Revel in the good you have received.
Revel in the good you have lived and experienced.
Revel in the good you have felt and the good you will feel once more.

The sun shines.
The flowers bloom.
The hearts are broken and mended.
The young sometimes die before their time.
The old live so long that they lose all the memories they had stored away.

Are we to lose our way?
Are we to waste this day?
Are we to regret our short stay?

Sing out to the bounty of nature.
Sing out to the mother we forget to praise.
Sing out to the world and let your hearts rise up.
Sing and rejoice and your life will be filled with love.

Remember the lost.
Remember them with fondness.
Remember so they may live once more.
Remember and they will never be forgotten.

But also remember that life is life.

It ends as it must and ever shall.
