Queen Of My Heart

So dear to me, I love and cherish you so much,

More truly than words alone can hope to express,

For I am only complete when I know your touch,

And in that union, I find true happiness,

Blessing the day you consented to be my wife.

But my heart aches whenever I see you in pain,

And I hate everything distressing in your life,

My only wish is to make you happy again.

But such is my blindness; I often fail to say

Those sweet words you most need to hear, or even worse

Hurt you by careless remarks, heedless of the way

They will cruelly break your heart, later to curse

And punish myself, vowing that never again

Will I be so unkind, begging you to forgive,

And by your gentle graciousness, break every chain

Of my bitter self-loathing, so that I might live

Bathed in the light of your unconditional love.

You are my gentle angel, sent by kindly fate

To comfort and heal me, and carry me above

These harsh worldly cares, my one, and only soulmate.

With bare hands, I would even iron walls break down,

And conquer every dragon to be by your side.

So I pledge my whole life to you, and thus to crown

You as queen of my heart, my true and loving bride.
