Reaching The End

How does one know when it’s time to face eternity.

Do you feel a tug deep within your soul.

Is there a feeling that reaches beyond sensitivity.

That tells you, that you’ve reach the end of the road.

Will the angels sing your heartbeats song.

Tugging at every nerve within.

Brightly letting your soul shine past the fog.

As your heart  feels it’s own end.

Do you see the world in brighter colors,

Hear the rivers rushing by,

Do the birds sing together,

Has your soul started to fly?

How does one know the end has approached?

I think it’s never the same.

That everyone follows different roads,

But all may feel the pain.

The pain of lost time and places.

Never reaching ones goals.

The pain of hurting love ones,

Or the fear of letting go.

Yet maybe there’s no pain,

No regrets, no reason to be sad.

Maybe there’s simple reassurance,

In the life that you had.

I hope when the time comes.

I face it with a smile.

Knowing I did my best in life,

And treasured every mile.
