HomePoetry StoriesShe always told me I'm the light of her life

She always told me I'm the light of her life

Luckily, my husband led me back home......

You’ve left me,
Destroyed me,
I don’t know how to heal.

Still in disbelief
That this is happening,
It can’t be real

You told me we were Soul mates
From the very first kiss
Bonded when we put on our ring

I mistakenly believed There was no you and me, only us
We were strong enough to survive anything

You are lost and wandering
I’m desperately trying to hold on
Say something, tell me we’ll be okay, give me an excuse

I regret that my light has dimmed so much that you can no longer see
The further away you go the more energy it takes to power it.
You’re moving faster than I can shine and I’m afraid I’m almost out of juice

I stare at my ring now sitting on my dresser
You lied, you hurt me,
I want to walk away

But we are meant to be
Help me understand,
I don’t know what else to say

I’m filled with anger and pain
I can’t believe what you’ve done
But I still know, we are meant to be

I will shine my light, one last time
Trying to lead you back home
I only hope you can see.
