Summer Storm

A summer storm blows by.

A soft murmur heard
Droplets scatter about

Thunder’s distant rumble
Nature’s fury shouts

Darkening skies
Like a blanket conceal

Turbulence above
The Gods won’t reveal

Sharp lightening cracks
Illuminating the ground

Storm clouds roar
With a deafening sound

Rain washes down
As the heavens cry

Indignation unleashed
The storm passes by

Whisper of wind
Cleansing the air

Warm sunlight’s return
Finding us there
