The ocean's waves
Call out your name
Each time
They crash to the shore.

The beating voice
From nature's ploy
Reverberates softly
Filling my lost soul.

The rushing sound
Keeps hammering down
Memories put away
Long ago.

The receding wake
Never gives and only takes
Away again what's already gone
That I won't ever get back.

Yet it's peaceful here,
'Cause I still feel you near
All around me
With each rolling slap.

Your spirit slowly drifts
Along with the ocean's swift
White caps which console me
The only way they can.

I always wish for more
As I stand upon the shore
Wanting this moment to last
Forever in the white sand.

But as long as I know
That the ocean will flow,
I'll find comfort deep within
My slowly healing heart.
