The Ocean's Roar

Tags: poetry

Gazing at the shore
Above the ocean's roar
I look upon the moon
And long for her once more

Waves go rushing in
I see her face again
And wonder if she'd change
My loss into a win

It's doubtful now I know
Still I did love her so
But feelings fade to gray
When loving cannot grow

Saltwater mists I feel
Near shores that still seem real
Without her smile so bright
My ship has shown its keel

I'm sinking by the beam
My heart has lost its steam
I'll never know if she
Was true or just a dream

It matters not how late
Reach out and set me straight
Or else my vessel dies
A tearful grave my fate
