Everything dims around me,
a bulb's filament fading fast,
the light along warm hands cautiously
receding when we reach for one another.

Our hearts like two darkened continents afloat,
struggling to collide in our new forms.

Consuming me now just as much as the first time
I tried to unravel your mysterious layers,
the clues and fissures entwining our maps,
connecting the invisible traces between the glows
you've placed so far within me.

Everything draws us together,
consuming me with the beautiful notes two can make,
the chords your whispers still me with.

Our hearts so much more than two worlds
in an endless cycle of merging and splitting,
when we give it all away to reach for one another,
the light along warm hands bordering a fragile darkness.

Consuming me now and always,
the clues and fissures entwining,
connecting maps that can illuminate and sweep
through all that we are.

Everything becoming a chord to still me with.
