Good morning, lady Cynthia. Hi, G and Scott. Yes, there is always coffee brewing. The water just needs to come to a boil once again for the tea drinkers.

We have a lawn service. They will stop mowing each week whenever the weather says to do so. After that, they will clear snow if it reaches specified depths on the sidewalks.

I will need to cut back the purple hyacinth bean vines. They are annuals here so will have to be replanted in the spring. But the wisteria growing up onto the pergola is solidly there and will start blooming next year, I'm sure.

I am using a Macbook Pro at present. There are three in the house at the moment.

There was definitely a chill in the air today. It was 48F/9C this morning while I walked Victor. Not really looking forward to it getting colder. Nope.

Bah to computer issues, Gill! (hugs) Reading a book to distract you from the sighs of your son fixing it sounds a great idea! How is Apollo doing today?

It's 14 degrees here (that's 57F), wet and windy but it has warmed up a bit after the wild weather of mid-week. Some of Larry's coffee would do nicely, please. :)

The coffee is good here today, Cynthia. I'm always glad to see you drop by and join us. We are finally having the Autumn weather really surrounding us. There is a 100 percent chance of precipitation today. It will still get hot again, but we know it is Fall now. We can feel it out there.

I'm off to do some shopping soon. It's time to get some of the weekly bargains. Victor will just have to go back to bed while I'm gone. flower

Here's hoping that all are having a good day. I have the coffee brewed and there's a tea kettle on the stove. Victor is snuggled up with me. I'm not sure where the cat is hiding.

I've been watching Wunderground for the weather forecasts. It appears that there are dozens of small rainy spots surrounding this area. The most massive is a cell over the center of Kansas. I wonder if that will reach us here or not.

I've got Arabica french roast brewing. It should be ready in a few minutes. Today is dance class. I'm rather achy and this class will stretch my muscles but I'm sure I'll be even achier later on.

Victor sees me get out my dance bag and he knows I will be leaving and won't take him with me. He goes back to bed a very unhappy pup.

Morning, all. I need to get my first cup of coffee in me quickly.

Never any worries, Bill. We always get these things figured out. Any efforts to give aid and comfort to simple writers are appreciated.

Not a clue what is happening today. I am in a sort of fog for some reason. Oh well, always some chores to do.

Topic Calls for short fiction plus some contests
Posted 01 Oct 2019 13:16

You'll find a sizeable number of calls for subs with horror themes. The earliest deadline is Oct. 15 and the list is more or less chronological. Don't forget the contests which are listed last.

-- taken from the free, online newsletter of Authors Publish magazine (highly recommended)

It appears that every paragraph of information with each request for submissions includes at the end "Details here:' but there are no details. I believe there should have been websites listed in each place but they don't appear. Am I missing something, Bill?

Morning, Scott. Hey Bill. Nice day. Starting out well. Vuctor has his chin resting on my leg, watching me type and do other computer chores.

I'm thinking of heading out to Mesa Verde National Park soon. We have discovered there are tons of places there in the park that are accessible and the pup is allowed to roam along with us on the trails. That makes it tempting to visit. And it is a short two day drive out there to Southwest Colorado.

The temperatures are cooling and the leaves out west will start turning colors soon. It might be a good trip.

Up to now, I have just over 200 words. I'm trying to write something in the steampunk style. I just have to get my mind around it.

*modestly flashing my shiny new Challenge Champ badge* happy8

Thanks to all who read my whacky tale. I'm looking forward to the next challenge idea.

Good morning, Tamara and Scott. Tam, you might be interested in knowing there is a Moon challenge still in effect right now. It's had only three entries so far. This is the thread announcing the challenge.

I'm working on my second cup of coffee now. Completed all of my usual chores. I am working on the Moon challenge now, but it is going slow.

Good morning, Cynthia. I'm needing another cup of coffee now. I think this will be a rather lazy day.

I do feel the urge to write, but we shall see.

We just got back from a nice hike out in the woods of our nearby state park. Our townhome is just two or three miles away from the large park with miles and miles of trails and a huge lake for fishing and sailing.

The weather is so great today it was a shame to waste it. Victor did find a Copperhead snake that I didn't let him play with. He has no fear. The lake is above flood stage in parts of it.

I got some tomatoes yesterday so I think I need to make a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich tonight. It better taste good 'cause I'm looking forward to it.

Good morning to all. Almost noon. Victor and I will be going out for a walk soon.

I'm working on my second cuppa java. One more and then no more caffeine for the day.

I've pretty much completed all of my computer chores for the day.

I am keeping up with my reading. I just finished Tam's new Back to School entry. It's a fun read.

Nice day. The wind is blowing and it is not too hot yet.

A nice cup of coffee to begin the day. I believe I need to do some shopping today. That's a normal Friday for me.
