It is due to the materials low tolerance for moisture. The high density fiber core that makes up most of the tile becomes permanently deformed when wet. It's kind of like how a book warps when wet and then never stays flat again.

A nightmare. Although things may feel pleasant whilst part of my dreamscape, they are often to weird, to deal with in real life.
If you found out, you had a sibling you weren't aware of, and by some freaky coincidence that sibling turned out to be the current love of your life, would you still be able to love her/him like you did before you knew?

That's something that scholars have tried to find out for millennia. Honestly, I think it's a bit of both. I don't know why, I don't know how, but it just is. And I think that's what love is. It isn't one thing in particular, it just is.
