Going a little off tangent, my son recently had a minor accident but the damage was sufficient to write off his car (it was 16 years old). An old lady failed to give way. Nobody was hurt and she freely admitted liability.
The following Saturday, he and I drove many miles looking for a replacement, none of which were any good.
The next day, he rang me.
"Can you pick me up, I've found a car on Facebook!" he said. I asked him where it was. "Your next-door neighbour!" was the unexpected reply.

Hello everyone. I’m new here today. I am also from the red site. Wow, my first day and I’ve already had a story published. Thank you for making me welcome. I hope to publish many more. Regards, Verity.

Welcome, Verity! Many of us came from the red site, but you will find it somewhat different here. Somewhat more relaxed, shall we say.

Anything I can help you with then please, don't hesitate to ask.
Whilst a car can go where trains cannot, I am the driver. Trains then would be my choice to see the country properly.

WYR visit somewhere new or holiday in the place you know and love (not home)?

I'm new here, still finding my way around!!

Hi Rachel, welcome to Stories Space. I am Anna.

The best way to find out about us here is to take a look around. We are a pretty eclectic bunch and easy-going, generally.
Take a look at the Forum and join in some of the threads. Play some games, have a chat, read some stories too... don't forget to score and comment. We all like to know what our readers think of our work.

To begin with, though, tell us a little about yourself by filling in your profile page.

If there is anything I can help you with then please, feel free to ask.
I won't bite... Honest.
Vinyl. 8 track never really took off here.

WYR watch live TV or catch-up?
If we are including Youtube... I have discovered that a show I watched back in the sixties is available. It is French (subtitled) but the Flying sequences are Top Gun rivaling. Some excellent footage of the aircraft carrier Foch.

Erm... What are they?

WYR Dine in a fine restaurant or Barbie in the park?
Decided to binge-watch all three seasons of Babylon Berlin... again. It is so well made that it is a joy to watch. the recreation of the 1920s is so atmospheric that it is easy to forget it is a modern show.

The Last Sled - Tuomas Holopainen. From the Album "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck".

Featuring the beautiful voice of Johanna Kurkela (Holopainen)

The whole sea shanty meme kind of passed me by. I saw the videos coming out but only listened to one or two and found it all kind of meh. But this version of "Wellerman", featuring three young female artists that I am familiar with through their regular gigs (2 are in bands, the third is solo), caught my eye. It is quite a good performance.

Whilst listening to "Wellerman" I found myself hearing a close similarity, although considerably slower, to the theme tune of a TV show I watched and enjoyed as a child.
Do you hear it too?
