Confusing indeed, Larry. It became mandatory today to wear a face mask whilst using public transport (but not taxis. Possibly because of robbery). Why now, as virus is supposedly in decline? Why not right from the start?

Under the new covid 19 rules in England, My daughter-in-Law's Mother, a nurse on a covid ward and living alone, can now resume contact with my grandchildren and provide childcare.
The two of us, who have remained isolated and together, are deemed a greater risk and therefore are not permitted to visit our children and grandchildren with the exception of remaining outside and two metres distant.

Well, now I know that the British government has lost the plot and I am likely to break the rules.
The lockdown has been eased to allow households with just one member visit another household.
This means that my Daughter-in-Law's mother, who is a nurse on a covid ward and divorced, is deemed safe to visit our grandchildren but the two of us, who have been in virtual self isolation for the last couple of months, are not.
It is no wonder that people don't know if they are coming or going.
The UK has one of the highest death rates per million population in the world and I can see why.
Okay, rant over, sorry.
I'll just sit here for a while and have an extra strong, double espresso and one of Sara's fine cookies while I chill out a bit.

Adults living alone or single parents living with children under the age of 18
What can they do?
They can form a bubble with one other household which means they will effectively be treated as a single household for the purpose of the lockdown rules.
They can visit each other's homes and stay overnight if they want. They will not have to observe the two-metre social distancing rule.

If two grandparents live together in one household, they can only visit their children and grandchildren if their son or daughter is the only adult in his or her household.
