First of all, do you know of Grammerly? It is an app which you can download to help with your writing. The free version will help with the major problems but there is also a paid subscription which will cover everything else, Give it a try.
Now, 15,500 words is not a particularly short story on this site. I would recommend that you split it into three, four or five 'Chapters' and submit them separately but don't submit them all together. Wait until each has been verified before posting the next.
Take a look at some other stories on this site to get a feel of how we are here. The important thing is, though, have fun. That is the name of the game.

Aww, thank you, Elizabeth. You are absolutely right, of course. All the things I am struggling with right now will pass in time and will also for you. Keeping that thought uppermost in our minds will keep us strong.
Immerse yourself in making Christmas a happy time as much as you can. Think only happy thoughts and filter out, if only just for one day, as many bad memories as you can.
If you find yourself struggling, think of me and together we will fight on until the sunshine breaks through the darkness once more.
