If there is no time constraint then certainly the scenic route.

Summer rain or winter sun?

My Dad was like that in his last days, Anna, so my heart goes out to you. He was only 80, too. Have a hug or two on me. And we'll make sure the coffee is of the "spoon stands up on its own" variety, at least for you.

It was my fate to have my father pass before he was seventy. He had smoked his entire life and had numerous strokes and heart attacks. Then my mother had to go through cancer with bungling doctors ending her life much too short in her seventy-sixth year. I've been so much luckier and I know it.

We'll all share a hug for the heartaches we have gone through.

The coffee I make is always Arabica, Anna.

Thank you, gentlemen. I am ok with it all but the last few days have been so busy that my holiday seems but a distant memory now.

Hi Everyone. Well, here I am at last and finally managed to get the next chapter of Long Road Home submitted. It's been a hell of a week since I got back from Germany. My mum, is in hospital and is tomorrow going into a nursing home for what I fear will be her final days. She is 95, suffers from dementia and heart failure. She won't eat or drink now. Travelling back and forth to take care of the problems with the medical and welfare people, along with attending meetings the other side of the country has worn me to a stump.
Today, I decided to 'take a day off' and spent the afternoon working on the chapter. I got the last 1500 words done. Phew!

So now, I will sit here and enjoy an enormous cup of strong, black Arabica if I may please.

Well, friends, it's that time of year again. I am off on my hols for a couple of weeks.
Tomorrow we drive down to the south coast and chill for the evening and then, on Sunday we cross the Channel into France and on through Belgium until we reach our destination... Rheinland Pfalz!
I've never been to that part of Germany before so I am looking forward to it.

It looks like the last time I shall be travelling as a European because if, as seems inevitable, Johnson, our unelected leader, has his way and tears us out of the EU, travelling across there will become more difficult and more expensive. Big Big sigh...

Maybe, when I return, Carl will have posted his Moon Challenge piece to eclipse Larry's most excellent offering?

Have fun, folks and think of me drinking excellent coffee every day!
