I recently had the great pleasure of spending a few days in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park in North Wales.
It was whilst driving along one of those narrow country lanes that I passed a farm entrance where, beside the gate, was a stall which was stacked with all the fresh fruit, vegetables and dairy produce which one would expect in such a rural area.
Beside the stall was a hand written sign which stated:
FRESH FRUIT
FRESH VEGETABLES
PARACETAMOL
I was so surprised that I pulled in and wound down the window.
"Fresh fruit, Fresh veg and paracetamol?" I asked the earthy looking chap behind the stall.
"That's right," he replied with a strong Welsh accent.
"OK, I get the fruit and veg," I said, "But pain killers? How come?"
The old fellow stared at me seemingly offended and replied,
"Because I'm a farmer, see?"

An odd thing happened to me this morning. When I woke, I had a little poem in my head. It only contains 40 words and is reminiscent of Spike Milligan's style.
Now I am wondering, have I read it somewhere or is this writing lark really getting inside my head?
I shall post it in due course and when I do I would be grateful if any of you have seen or heard it before, please tell me.

It depends on the movie. A really good one is better at the Theatre but the pleasure of watching a good movie at home is also intense considering the quality of modern TVs and surround sound systems.

Today I took my 34 year old son to Hospital for an operation on his hand under general anaesthetic.
I was up at 5am and spent the day waiting at the hospital until he was released around 3pm.
It wasn't all bad, though. I got to spend some 6 hours in peaceful solitude with my laptop working on my latest chapter!

Today I am feeling a little sorry for myself. Whilst trimming a hedge with a petrol powered trimmer, the handle slipped in my hand and the blades hit my knee. 
Fortunately, the safety brake operated but I now have three perfect impressions of the teeth carved into the flesh just above my left knee cap.
It isn't deep or serious but it did bleed quite a bit and it stings. Oh, and I was wearing jeans which were, amazingly, not damaged!
I think I need caffeine so a strong double espresso, please.
