It really needs a voice with a some range and skill. However, between Tommy's two versions and Floor Jansen's performance of the Finnish version from a few years back, I am realizing that the better metal singers can pull it off.

I wonder if it is because metal singers do have the power it needs.

Nope, I see no reason to. As an ex-aircraft engineer, I would rather wait until the perfectly serviceable aeroplane landed before stepping through the door. On the other hand, if said aeroplane became unserviceable and was going to hit the ground somewhat harder than intended...

Welcome back. I take it you were in Germany? Did you know Nightwish was touring Germany last week on the European leg of the tour that should have happened in 2020? And Floor is also back in Germany on her own next year when she tours her new solo album (Paragon, due out March 24, 2023).

Not only was I in Germany, I was in Munich. Nightwish played at the Olympiastadion not so far from where we were staying. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go and am still kicking myself. 🦵🏻😒
