When I worked for Singer Company, I traded a sewing machine for a '61 Ford Falcon. Maroon in color and in pretty good shape, but it broke down on the freeway and the cost to repair it was more than the car was worth.

And, yet, the 'Stang was originally built on the Falcon platform so something good came out of it, even if the Falcon itself was crap.

I had a '68 Mustang in the Navy. Hurst shifter... 289 4-barrel carb... glass-pack exhausts... it got me into a lot of trouble...

He owns a bookshop... He must be a nice guy.

Just a small bookshop

Yes, but a very special bookshop.

I didn't have a car in high school. My mother had various cars at various times. I finally bought a car when I was in college. It was a used 1963 Ford Falcon. It was worthless.

This is a photo of my ex-brother-in-law. We were never close, but I thought this pic was a classic black & white. And, yes. He really did play that damn accordion.
I'm a dark rich coffee person. I occasionally like the froo-froo blended coffees at Starbuck's and the like.

When I was a boy, there was a loose tea that came in a tin. It was called Constant Comment. The blend of orange peel and spices apparently was an old colonial recipe. I loved the scent it gave off as you sipped it.
Has a dictionary, a thesaurus, and the entire works of Shakespeare in his head.
I've had a few dreams. I was a jock in high school, so I wanted to be a baseball player. I actually made it past the first tryouts for the St. Louis Cardinals when I was 17.

Then, Playboy magazines were relevant to young boys back then, so I wanted to be a photographer for Playboy.

Perry Mason was one of my favorite shows as a boy. I loved the intrigue and courtroom tension. So I thought I would be an attorney.

But in response to my own query, my dream career would have been as a full-time paranormal investigator. Searching for all things unexplained. (I do that now as a hobby)
I had a '52 Chevy POS with various shades of paint on the fenders and doors. Then a '61 Ford Fairlane. My first really decent car was a '63 Thunderbird convertible after I graduated.
For the most part, the quality of my work depends on the subject matter, my emotional state, and the urgency I feel to post something. I have found that my work is much better if it flows naturally in its own time rather than doing it because it's been a while since I last posted.

These numbers are well within reason to an active member. We are trying to encourage more participation and putting badges closer to the merry-go-round makes them easier to grab.

Well done you Magificent rascal...

So, did we ever settle on what to request? I think the consensus is that the numbers need to be a reach (to encourage more participation) yet also be demonstrably achievable so members don't become discouraged and give up because they think there's no hope.

Based on that criteria, this would be my recommendation:

For those who aren't into badges, we offer the option of hiding badges from your profile page. Go to Settings —> Settings/Privacy and scroll to the Your Profile Page section. About three-quarters of the way down that section, you'll see Hide Badges. Check the box to Hide your badges from your profile page. Be sure to press Update Details at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
