Granted... but it's electric and you have to charge it every 30 feet.

I wish I could start over.

Congratulations to the Top 3 for their victory and to all others for a fine competition.

Personally, I like the darker edgier Batman. I think he should be judge, jury and executioner. The problem with nice guy Batman is we all know that criminals rarely feel the weight of the law with lawyers and judges and corrupt legal processes. So why bother arresting them?

so tired I can't think (956?)

As a side note... if we are going up in 5's... how are we on an extra digit?

Hahaha... it was me! Somehow I messed up in 2019... I went back and adjusted...

The real count is... 955

Yes, I am aware that The Time Machine has already been remade, but in my opinion very poorly. My hope is that with current technology and a better cast it could be remade properly.

Emphasis on the cast part. The fx is almost a no-brainer now. Also, a writer and director who respect the material and don't go overboard trying to make it "modern". The whole Eloi-Morlock story still largely works as is, for instance. The problem, of course, is that Wells is seminal to steampunk and the temptation for any period adaptation of Wells now will be to give it that aesthetic.

One scene that I don't think has been used in any adaptations is the one where he goes into the far future and sees weird lifeforms under a dying sun. It doesn't jibe with modern understandings of stellar evolution and the fate of the Earth, but it is a spectacular vision that would look great with the right people working on it.

Yes, it must stay a period piece. To modernize it would make it just another CGI waste of time. (See what I did there?)

Also, I agree there needs to be more focus on future travels. Maybe even some travel to the past where the butterfly effect comes into play.

Possible leads? Ed Norton. Brad Pitt. Tom Hardy.

I don’t know how to make the boxes that quote others so I’ll have to do it this way! The gentleman above (Dreamcatcher) mentioned four movies. Time Machine had already been remade over and over again. The other one that caught my attention was one of my top ten favorites, The Ghost and Mrs, Muir! It’s a classic and should never ever be remade. How can you improve on perfection? That would be like remaking Casablanca without Humphrey Bogart.

Thanks for the quote. In my opinion, all of the movies I listed are classics. I'm a classic!

Yes, I am aware that The Time Machine has already been remade, but in my opinion very poorly. My hope is that with current technology and a better cast it could be remade properly. As far as The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, it has set the bar quite high. A remake would have to be of such quality that only the best Hollywood has to offer will do.

'We are 11 days into self-isolation and it is really upsetting me to witness my wife standing at the living room window gazing aimlessly into space with tears running down her cheeks. It breaks my heart to see her like this. have thought very hard about how I can cheer her up. have even considered letting her back into the house... but rules are rules.'

hahaha... Now, that's funny. I don't care who you are...

Those of us with family members still in school are extremely upset with anti-vaxers who willfully put their health at risk by not having their own children vaccinated. As far as I'm concerned, ALL schools should refuse entry to families who can't verify their vaccination records. I'm a hard-liner when it comes to protecting children and these folks who subscribe to the notion that they know better than the scientific community need to be re-educated.

DC, regarding this favorite monster in your state survey...

Do mother-in-laws count? ;)

There is a 100-yard personal space policy for mother-in-laws. If they breach that barrier, then they get added to the list.

Here in CA, we have "The Dark Watchers". Native Americans describe them as 15-foot tall shadows. I think me and a flashlight can run 'em outta town.

In preparation for Halloween and our upcoming story category changes... which is your monster?

What interests me is these story category changes you are talking about. The only one I have seen anything about so far is a historical category. Is there another list being touted somewhere that I have not been aware of?

Yes, Larry... the new categories will be:

Monsters Under Your Bed

Stripes and Plaids

Yak Butter Recipes

Cloven Hooved Friends

Haunted Refrigerators
