Did you check out the image gallery? Imagine how much work you could get done in those surroundings. It looks like Heaven for writers.

I might be putting this in the wrong spot, but here goes.

I just got a letter in the mail that states that one of my poems is going to be put in an anthology of sorts. It's also up for a prize and if I want the book, I have to pay for it. Sounds like a scam to me. If your poem is picked to be in something, shouldn't they give it to you?

When your poem or story is going to be included in an anthology, usually part of the prize is one or several free copies of the anthology, since you're providing their content. Sounds unfair to expect you to pay for something you've contributed to.
Great post, Alan.

I read a few years back that you should use your real first name and choose a made up last name. That way when you're ridiculously famous you'll remember to turn around when someone calls your name.

My real name is Lisa but I use "Bradley" as my surname. Now I just need to work on that ridiculously famous part.
Well done on your story being accepted.

Another achievement to add to your resume.
That was an interesting read. I'm sure if I read a new book written by one of my favourite authors I'd still know it was them even if their name wasn't on the cover. Even though their stories change, the style and voice remains the same. That's what keeps me going back for more.
Cappucino. The new coffee machine at our place has been getting a workout.
As a writer, how much time do you spend reading? Do you feel it's important to read a lot to be able to write effectively?

And if you do read a lot, does what you read influence your writing style?
