You know things are bad when Elizabeth's not around

You know things are bad when this is the nicest thing anyone has said about me for a very long time.

You know things are bad when your grocery list is more exciting than your latest story.

Unfortunately the cave was filled with really super scary spiders that ate ape food.

This is a beautiful piece of description, Elizabeth.

Thank you so much Jeff. I do live in a beautiful, rural area. So quiet and private. Nature abounds. You have had plenty of wildlife around your place that I have followed with smiles.

I have found there is good critters and not so good critters. Our yard is one big marshy mole tunnel. You can see where deer have almost broken an ankle/leg by stepping on what looks like just grass and down they go making a deep hole. We had 8 deer march in a line this morning across our property and into the woods across the small country road. Everyday they are a hazard to driving as if one decides it can "beat that car" others come bounding out to follow. So when we see one cross, we stop and wait to make sure it was a solo athlete. Black bears are around, but not that I see. They say coyotes are here in big numbers, but I've never seen one or heard one. Once county over they were paying $50 per dead one. They just dropped that out of their budget. Don't know if it was draining them or not enough interest. I love to hear about your cats. Marvelous animals.

It has been windy and cool (55F) today after 75F yesterday. But Spring is here and the blush of green is on so many trees and bushes. Forsythias starting to bloom along with the daffodils and other early flowers. Birds are nesting. Two Carolina wrens (the bane of my existence) have already built nests on my back porch. Such rascals. I have had generations of them feel the back porch belongs to them.. They have already thrown big plastic greenery bushes out of a wall planter so they have room for their nesting. And they have taught all their young to come on the porch when they need to poop. And they yell and scold me for daring to even set foot on the porch. But, they are adorable and I love to hear them.

Sara, take care of your poor ankle.
