I have. I have to think someone went to trouble to find them and I will check one or two occasionally. Sadly, I can't seem to keep up with all the good work published here. Glad you drew attention to this. Always good to have a reminder.

Hi everyone

I think Virginia is pretty but I'm partial to the New River Valley (Blacksburg and Christiansburg area)where I grew up.

In Big Bird we have :maple walnut, cinnamon stars, oatmeal orange cookies and chocolate cherry delights
In Cookie Monster we have :chocolate cherry delights, apple cinnamon whippersnappers, honey drop cookies and ginger snaps

You are so right about the beauty of the New River Valley - no wonder you grew up so sweet and pretty.
I know I never tell you how many of your cookies I eat every day. Come on, read what is going on and have such a hard time not taking one of everything. You do know you spoil us all.

I am so excited that Bill wrote a story and can't wait to read it. I love all his writing.

And Victor must have thought he was pretty sharp out in the snow with his red hoodie. Makes me smile.
WelcomeXander - yes, this is a very welcoming site. Lots smaller but all the people are super great. Make yourself at home. I'm too shy to write too much and really enjoy just playing around on the forum and reading other talented writers work here.

I smile at Gill's report on the Northern Neck. She is absolutely right about access to top quality medical care. Richmond is it.

And I spent years disagreeing with my husband about moving permanently to our weekend place in the Shenandoah Valley. Thought I would have nothing to do or anyone to talk to except farm wives and I wasn't raising crops or animals.

But lo and behold, it has been great. Have large group of good women friends and not one of them milks cows. All imports from D.C. area. We are on the Shenandoah River and while it is small where we are, still beautiful with the mountains in the back drop. Good shopping and medical care is almost an hour away (like Richmond) but there is plenty of choices (Winchester, Harrisonburg, UVA at Charlottesville. People living here get used to driving much farther than I ever thought I'd get used to.

Scott, I know you would love to be on the Lake and hope it all works out.

I have messed up at least once on every one of these. And would probably still be doing it if someone hadn't been kind enough to enlighten me. I'll probably still goof.

Larry, I'm glad you are finished with your treatments.

Cynthia, the outdoor dance class sounds amazing. A neighbor here has been doing yoga classes in a nearby park when weather permits.

My son went to a concert last weekend. It was held at a county fairground. You drove your car in and had your own space. He was very happy to find a safe live music event.

I think I have too many streaming options. Too many choices lead to not making any choice.

It's been warm and humid for the last few days. Today is beautiful. I'll enjoy it because I am sure I'll be complaining about the cold before too long.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Cheers!

You are right..get your puffy coat fluffed up for Sunday....

My wife and I shopped together for the first time in quite a while. And then picked up takeout dim sum for lunch. Yummy. I'm counting that as my Thanksgiving dinner (Canadian Thanksgiving is tomorrow). To be honest, I'll take curried cuttlefish and stuffed steamed eggplant over turkey these days anyhow.

Happy Thanksgiving. And who wouldn't take curried cuttlefish and stuff steamed eggplant over turkey. Oh, guess the answer is most Americans. Giggle. No, I know it is wonderful because your wife is a wonderful cook as you've told us. But dim sum was a good start for the holiday.

Yum, that sounds like a perfect alternative to turkey - curried cuttlefish and stuffed steamed eggplant. Never having tasted cuttlefish, but know as your wife's creation it will be wonderful. The dim sum sounds so very good. I have to find a good Asian restaurant as I have been yearning for a treat.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I love Shaun of the Dead!

One of the all-time best. So glad others agree.
