This or That

Round here tends to be the former but being the Anglophile I am, I like the latter.

DVD or streaming?

Streaming for the most part, but I own some favorites on DVD that are not on any streaming service I like to watch.

Netflix or Hulu?

Netflix. I don't think Hulu has ever come into the Canadian market, to be honest. Though I haven't checked in a while.

Hard rock or heavy metal?

I like hard rock but metal has the edge although Symphonic rather than heavy.

VHS or Betamax? (For those old enough to know the difference 🤭)

VHS was usually cheaper and easier to get in the day, though I know Beta was better quality overall. Hm. Beta, I think, though I always had VHS.

Plug-in hybrid or full-on EV?

Hybrid, there are still so many places that don't have charging stations and we like to go on long drives.

I-phone or Android phone system.

Android. Not fond of Apple for a number of reasons.

E-reader or tablet for reading?

Tablet. I have tactually never owned an eReader.

When playing as a kid: a cop or a robber?

Cop. Though oddly, thief was a favourite class in D&D.

Lions or Tigers? (Your call on whether this is animals or sports)

Tigers. Though they ARE playing the Mets as I type this

Grassy hillside or sandy beach

Grassy hillside. Sand bother my feet.

Ballgame in the open or ballgame in a dome?

Ballgame in the open

Read a book or listen to a book via audiotape?

Read a book. Every time I try to listen to a book, my mind wanders off, and I can't remember much of the book.

Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot?

Not really a Christie fan, but Poirot suits my temperament better. David Suchet's portrayal in particular.

Cozy mystery or dark, gritty noir mystery?

I prefer a dark, gritty noir mystery.

Kayak or canoe?

Canoe. Never felt comfortable in kayaks for some reason.

Drive or be driven?

Be driven. Because of my epilepsy I had to stop driving in my 20s. I did enjoy it, though.

Museum of Science and Industry or Museum of Art?

Depends on mood, I guess. Probably Art these days.

Paintings or sculpture?

It depends on the subject, but generally, paintings. Although, there are wonderful and equally awful representatives of both.

Abstract art or faithful recreation?

I kind of fall in between. Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, Chinese art, etc. that are not "realist" but are also far from abstract. But of those two respresentative art. Pure abstraction often leaves me cold.

Paint nature or human scenes?

If I could paint, I would choose nature.

Andy Warhol or Salvador Dali?

Dali. Warhol has never clicked with me. Dali amuses me if nothing else.

Cash or card?

I hate the thought of a cashless society. More and more shops here are card only now so I try to avoid them.

Headphones or earbuds?

I have decent a USB headphone at work and decent wired buds for home/mobile. Prefer headphones but not by a long stretch. And it's mostly that I'm not always comfortable having stuff in my ear given my right ear has issues already.

Ballet or opera?

Ballet. I am not crazy about Opera. having said that, I have a CD entitled, Wagner Ohne Worte (without words). Now that I do like!

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky or Adolphe Adam?

Tchaikovsky, mostly because I spent most of my early childhood in dance classes.

Attend a ballet performance or a modern dance?

I do like some modern dance and find traditional ballet a bit dull anymore, so probably modern or maybe modern-influenced ballet.

Electric or acoustic instruments?

I cannot choose either way. All instruments are wonderful when in good hands.

When a setting is available, additional bass or no additional Bass?

Depends on the music, but I tend to leave bass kind of middle on car systems (which tend to be bass-heavy), maybe turn it up a notch if I'm using buds on a phone or something else that is weaker on the low end. But, again, the music matters. Metal sounds better with a bit of extra bass, not so much smooth jazz.

Old school damp mop or Swiffer?

Swiffer. Mop makes the floor too wet.

Mains-powered or battery-powered vacuum cleaner?
