I was wondering if anyone else has had trouble submitting stories on here. I have been told and have also read that the stories are usually verified with in 24 hours and both times I have submitted it has taken over 24 hours to be verified (have put my second one up on the 27th of February and am still waiting for it to be verified) so I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else (not judging or wanting to cause trouble just curiosity)

Everyone hates the dreaded wait, while eventually people get used to it, it really isnt uncommon and nothing to stress over. The first reason is because this site is usually understaffed and despite our mods best efforts they are human too. And with the amount of stories they recieve it is often overwhelming. Recently it has gotten a lot better. There have been a few times I waited three or four days for my stories to be approved.

Hi again Nekala.

I have not been to every site that people have stories checked before being posted, but the ones I have average closer to 3-4 day and sometimes a week.
I would guess that more than 80% of my stories are done within 12-36 hours. Most of my writing is stories of 1500-3500 words (usually around 2250).
I have found that shorter pieces such as poems, flash fiction, and story of 1200 words or less tend to be verified a little quicker for obvious reasons.

Occasionally they will be returned for the reason mentioned when returned. That is for the author's benefit.
The moderators will make minor proofing fixes. I found it very helpful to compare the posted story to the submitted story from my original.
I found several mistakes I was commonly making so I learned a lot from it.

If you begin to think your story is taking too long, contact a moderator and they can check on its progress.
Personally I wait two days for that and in all the time I have been here that has only happened to me once.
You can't get there from here, because when you get there you're still here and here is now there.

It is an image that I am having issues with I am having trouble get my stories verified it has taken well over three days for the first and it is taking close to that for my second one the annoyance is that they say usually under 24 hours but I have had to wait quite a while longer to have them verified

Either a site moderator or story moderator may verify stories, and how quickly submissions are processed depends on a number of factors.

However, there appears to be a problem with your latest submission, Nekala. It isn't in our queue of stories awaiting verification, nor is it on your list of submitted stories (Stories List at the top of your profile page). There's a few problems we're having with the site at the moment, and I'm told it has something to do with a recent upgrade...not only are images not visible, but none of the audio stories are visible at the moment, for instance...and I have a feeling there are other less obvious issues we don't even know about...

Anyway...we have our top computer techs working on the issues...so please stand by...we appreciate your patience...




And the call center is on duty as well...
I once knew a drinker who had a moderating problem...
