The one thing I missed about hosting Thanksgiving was all the different pies people brought.
The weather has finally turned cold, and we had a bit of snow the other day.
Still dealing with family issues, mainly my Dad. I try to ignore the unpleasant things he says, but some days it is hard. He loves regaling people about his time in Vietnam, mostly about how many people he killed. This is a topic that he never talked about, but now it's right there in full view. If he sees someone Asian, he tells them he hopes he didn't kill any of their relatives.
I did laugh the other day when they were doing "The Daily Chronicles", a newsletter with history facts and information for the residents who can still read. It listed the invention of the tattoo gun, and my dad said only criminals and whores have tattoos. The activities director looked at me and asked if my dad knew I had several visible ones. I even pointed to my arm, and my dad calmly told me I did not have a tattoo and that I was not a whore. Good to know, lol. I have to laugh, because otherwise it's too tragic. Sigh, dementia is such a cruel disease. Thank you for attending my TED talk.
I happily have my Christmas tree and decorations up. They make me happy.
Have a good week, everybody. Cheers.
