Took me a little while to find the page detailing the contest itself rather than the terms and conditions, so here is the link for anyone else looking:

Oh, thanks for that Chrissey...I had trouble finding that page I posted...I had read about the contest in a newsletter, but the details they provided were a bit sketchy at best...

I think this one might be of interest to a couple of people here, btw...good luck to all, as usual...

Hey DM are you talking about the older ones amongst us or those that have an interest in deathly things...

Well, I'm certainly not talking about the ones who are already dead...if that is what you are implying when you say "older ones"...

Just saying...

Wow, the last thing I need to do is to actually try to write something sad. That usually happens even when I'm trying to be upbeat!

Let’s see,

I have lived so many days
And wasted them so many ways
My memories are in a haze
I've lost myself within the maze.

Was there ever a happy time?
Something joyful and sublime?
I've lost it all and find no sign
My only hope is an end benign.

No more running in youthful joy
For I no longer am just a boy
My body, once treated like a toy,
Pains me now in hopes destroy.

One more sunrise for today?
One more night without decay?
One more chance for me to say
How I wish that I could stay.

We all flash brightly like a flame.
And live our lives out like a game.
But we can never truly tame
The dreadful darkness that knows our name.

Yeah, I can do death and sadness. I hope you're happy Alan!

What the hell, I may as well post it... smile

Oh I need to have a look at this one, seems right up my proverbial alley...

“Many people hear voices when no one is there. Some of them are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day. Others are called writers and they do pretty much the same thing.”
